Launched in 2004, dmesgd aims to provide a user-submitted repository of searchable *BSD dmesgs. The dmesg(8) command displays the system message buffer's content, and during boot a copy is saved to /var/run/dmesg.boot. This buffer contains the operating system release, name and version, a list of devices identified, plus a whole host of other useful information. We hope others find this resource useful and further contribute to its growth. Contact us at [ admin at lists dot nycbug dot org ]. Note that this site is not a substitute for sending the dmesg directly to the respective project.

> bo scsi()netbsd-INSTALL Bad device specification > bo scsi(0,0)/netbsd-INSTALL Bad device specification > he bo bo [ -abdfrnsux ] [ -o <switch> ] [ <devspec> [ <file> [ <args> ... ]]] Boot the operating system from device given as <devspec>. If <devspec> is omitted, value of ROM variable "bootdev" is used as a name of boot device. And if ROM variable is not set, "scsi(0,0)" is used. Optional argument <args> will be passed to the operating system through bootstrapping program. To boot from "bfs" file system constructed on <bootdev>, use -b flag and specify name of file to be loaded as <file>. And to boot from "ufs" file system constructed on <bootdev>, use -u flag and specify name of file to be loaded as <file>. In these cases, bo with -f flag loads <file> as COFF or ELF object file, otherwise bo loads <file> as absolute binary starting from 0x80001000. bo -x flag does not execute loaded file, returns you to ROM monitor immediately after loading -a flag asks you name of the operating system kernel file. -s flag boot the operating system up with single user mode. -o flag sets the boot switch to <switch>. Meaning of <switch> is described in the operating system's manual. > bo scsi(0,0) netbsd-INSTALL NetBSD/newsmips Primary Boot NetBSD/newsmips Secondary Boot, Revision 1.7 (tsutsui@mirage, Thu Apr 16 21:31:51 JST 2009) Booting scsi(0,0)netbsd-INSTALL 4855536+92128=0x4b8224 SONY NET WORK STATION, Model NWS-5000, Machine ID #14668 Copyright (c) 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 The NetBSD Foundation, Inc.
